For more than 30 years, China has played the role of the world's largest manufacturer, mainly of goods conceived and created originally from other countries.
It started with China copying the product designs from popular brands in Western countries. From this, they earned the title of the largest counterfeiting syndicate in the world. They however managed to change that notion somehow when all these big companies started bringing their businesses to China, as a legal arm abroad, trying to cut expenses from home. But it appears China is tired of manufacturing products alone. A government campaign to hone homegrown talents and skills to design products that the world will use is now being pushed in China. China is now spending billions in research and development, trying to make China's high-tech industries more profitable, and bring more jobs to people. There is an air in China that says jobs close to modern industries will result in better standard of living. The Chinese government is sponsoring researches conducted by native Chinese citizens. They also wants to increase the number of patent on products registered every year, something China needs to catch up with compared to other Western countries. You can talk about...
